Excellent Machine, Safety Features are Excessive

by BenInKentucky on 7/14/2026 10:14:58 PM

First, get the diesel. This is our 3rd diesel Yukon and they are amazing. Great mileage, great resale value, plenty of horse power, and the range for one tank of fuel can be very convenient on long road trips. The extra room in the XL model is also convenient for luggage if you have a large family and enjoy the ability to see out the back windows. The 10 speed transmission is smooth and it will glide down the interstate at any speed with ease at very low engine RPM. The only real downside to this vehicle are the overbearing safety features. If I look over at the navigation screen it vibrates the seat and tells me I am distracted. The auto-cruise (self-driving) feature will randomly hit the breaks in the middle of the highway. The backup camera will slam on the breaks if it sees any movement behind the vehicle even if it is way out of range.
